Personal and Professional Profiles of Walsh Law, LLC Lawyers

Christopher G. Walsh, Jr, Managing Member

I have practiced law since 1976 after graduating with honors from New York University School of Law, where I was Managing Editor of the NYU Law Review. Thereafter I served for two years as a law clerk to Judge William J. Bauer of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in Chicago. Following my tenure with Judge Bauer, I had the rare privilege of  serving as a law clerk to Chief Justice Warren E. Burger of the Supreme Court.

When my clerkship with the Chief Justice ended, I joined the Chicago law firm of Rothschild, Barry & Myers where I remained until starting my own practice in August of 2003. At RB&M, I was primarily engaged in complex civil litigation matters, though I also served for many years as general counsel of a north suburban mass transit agency and as co-counsel for a local Teamsters pension fund.

On a more personal note, I lived in Oak Park for more than 40 years but now have a condo in the Loop near my law office. I have two sons and two daughters. I grew up in a large working-class family in Binghamton, New York and graduated from a high school seminary in Monroe, Virginia, outside of Lynchburg. I received my undergraduate degree from Loyola University of Chicago with dual majors in theology and political science. Before entering law school, I served on the legislative staff of the President of the Illinois State Senate for three years and earned a graduate degree from the University of Illinois-Springfield.

I’m excited and proud to announce that my son and namesake has become my law partner and will take over management of the firm in four years, though I will still be involved. This will ensure continuity of quality representation for my valued clients.

I'm proud to advise that Martindale- Hubbell--a highly regarded directory and rating service for lawyers-- has awarded me its highest ratings for both legal ability and professional ethics. My AV rating reflects that I offer my clients "the highest levels of skill and integrity." You may verify this at www.martindale.com.

I’m honored to partner with my dad in the creation of Walsh Law, LLC. A graduate of Oak Park and River Forest High School, I was an honors student and three-sport varsity athlete in soccer, basketball and baseball. Thereafter, I fell in love with comedy and storytelling and became a part of the Chicago improv community.

I'm a graduate of Columbia College Chicago which is consistently ranked as one of the top 20 film schools in the world. After graduating from Columbia with honors, I moved to Los Angeles in pursuit of a screenwriting career. Like many aspiring screenwriters in LA, I paid the bills by bartending and waiting tables. While hard, stressful work, more than anything else the service industry taught me the importance of placing customer service at the forefront of any business. I'm hoping to bring a more polished customer service experience to our clients at Walsh Law, LLC.

Although I enjoyed my time in LA, I realized how much I missed my family and friends in Chicago and decided to return home. I was thrilled to be admitted into the Chicago-Kent College of Law and am a proud graduate of the 2020 class. During my time at Kent, I focused on gaining as much professional experience as possible. I won prestigious externships with Judge William Bauer of the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the Cook County State's Attorney Office. My work with the Felony Trial Division involved writing and arguing motions and researching the law for my supervising attorneys.

I am a proud member of both the Illinois State Bar and the Chicago Bar Association. I have a passion for learning and am currently studying Data Science in order to help bring Walsh Law, LLC into the 21st century and beyond.
